About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting volunteer efforts and enhancing the sustainability of volunteer fire brigades?

An ongoing opportunity has arisen for you to join us as a Regional BASO within our Volunteer Sustainability Team (VST) in the North East region.

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Volunteer Sustainability, you will collaborate closely with local Operations teams to identify and address challenges faced by volunteers and brigades. Your work will be hands-on, providing direct support to brigades and field teams.

This is a key role where, as a valued member of the team you will work with CFA catchments and other members of VST to strengthen volunteerism within CFA and support brigade sustainability. This will include but is not limited to, support regarding the impacts of aging and declining populations and the need to promote a diverse and inclusive culture within CFA. You will work closely with a team based across the Region and with other CFA functions.

In addition to BAU roles and responsibilities, this opportunity will work closely with our community engagement team and have a focus on building cultural competency with CFA, and greater connections to culturally diverse groups within the community that are not traditionally represented in CFA staff or volunteer ranks.

Please note some afterhours work and a full driver's licence are required of this role.  Further responsibilities can be found in the attached Position Description.

The person we are looking for will have tertiary qualifications in social sciences, humanities, or a related discipline or equivalent experience in volunteerism. You will bring strong expertise in sustainable volunteerism, with a solid understanding of community-based organisations.
