Position Title: Director of Nursing Aged Care – Castlemaine Campus

Role description
The Director of Nursing (DON) Aged Care for the Castlemaine campus reports to the Executive Director Clinical and Aged Care Services and is a key member of an interdisciplinary team of senior leaders who work together to develop innovative and sustainable ways to deliver high quality care to our community. The DON will consult and work collaboratively with internal and external service providers, partners, stakeholders, staff and consumers to achieve service innovations and continuously improve practices.
The primary role of the DON is to ensure the highest level of care is provided to patients, residents in the Aged Care Services on the Castlemaine campus of Dhelkaya Health. This requires the delivery of evidence based, safe and effective clinical care and support.
This role is a champion for Dhelkaya Health's values and purpose and promotes and drives commitment to the Health Service's strategic objectives. Staff working at this level are expected to manage work practices for the health and wellbeing of staff, promote and adopt a balanced and positive approach to work and ensure health and safety risks are addressed in a working environment free from harassment and discrimination.
About you
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia
- At least three years' experience in senior roles in health management
- Preferred - postgraduate qualification in health or management or working towards same, and experience working in residential aged care
- Demonstrated strong values driven leadership skills with a commitment to working collaboratively to achieve agreed organisational vision and objectives utilising an evidenced based quality approach
