About the role
Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic finance team? South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a motivated Accountant Assistant to provide essential support to our Finance Department.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, while also handling account reconciliations and day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. You'll assist with monthly general journals, including payroll and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in our financial reporting.
As you work closely with the Fixed Asset Register, you will help maintain accurate records and support our internal and external auditors to meet reporting and compliance requirements. Building effective relationships across the organisation will be key to ensuring smooth operations and continuity of service.

Position overview
- Permanent, full time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO. Part time position may be considered for the right candidate. Please specify your preferred hours in your application.
- Warrnambool Campus
- Administrative Grade 2
- Salary Range: $66,768.00 - $73,811.92 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
- A Diploma or Certificate IV in Accounting or currently pursuing one
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong prioritisation skills, enabling effective time management to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
- Experience with Oracle Financial Software is a plus
