About the opportunity:
As the Executive Director, Strategic Communications & Engagement, you will set the strategic direction and provide exceptional people leadership across the division.
You will lead and shape the community's understanding of the Victorian Health Building Authority's (VHBA) projects, with a strong focus on impactful messaging that enhances public awareness.
As a trusted advisor you will offer strategic and pragmatic advice on communications, public affairs, engagement, and risk, mitigation and prevention strategies.
A collaborative approach is essential; as you will be working with the VHBA CEO and the executive leaders, Victorian Infrastructure Development Authority (VIDA), Office of the Director-General (ODG), Ministers and key senior government people, ensuring an integrated approach across public affairs, media, stakeholder engagement and communications.
What you will bring:
- Extensive senior executive experience gained from working in complex and politically sensitive major infrastructure environments.
- Strong communication capabilities around leading and developing strategies, frameworks and risk management.
- Well-developed public affairs & media experience.
- Deep understanding of the political environment in which multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects operate within and are delivered, how to anticipate and mitigate issues and provide effective advice to senior levels of government.
- Highly developed emotional intelligence and collaborative working style that fosters strong teams, constructive networks and leads successful negotiations.
