About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) invites applications for the 2025 Aboriginal Cadetship in Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health. This program offers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals currently studying in these fields the chance to work one day a week (minimum of 40 shifts) at SWH throughout 2025. Flexible arrangements are available for those who prefer to complete their shifts in one or more full-time blocks.
Eligibility Criteria: To apply for this position, candidates must:
- Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Be beyond their first year of study in a relevant discipline (nursing, midwifery, or allied health)
- Maintain a minimum pass grade in all subjects
- Reside in Victoria or a cross-border community

- Under section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 interested applicants will be asked to supply a completed confirmation of Aboriginality form or a copy of a past completed form. Only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
