The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Senior Contract Manager to provide a critical role within Corporate Services and Infrastructure.
About the Business Unit
Technology Services and Data Security (TSDS) explores and employs technology to enable the department's business to function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and oversees the delivering of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.
About the Role
The position of Senior Contract Manager will work closely with the Senior Procurement Manager and is responsible for driving all contract sourcing and contract management activities including obtaining internal approvals and establishing supplier contracts essential for delivering technology, resourcing and service provisions for the program.
The Senior Contract Manager will be required to interpret contract terms, understand the financial arrangements, manage contracts to KPI's / SLA's as appropriate, ensure contracts meet legal and organizational standards and advise stakeholders on contract issues. The successful candidate will manage supplier contracts in a way that minimizes risk, promotes compliance, and supports positive business relationships. In addition, the Senior Contract Manager may lead a team of contract professionals and will be responsible for developing staff in contract management best practices.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- IT Services Experience: Familiarity with various IT services such as cloud computing, software development, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and support services.
- Data Protection & Privacy: Ensure contracts are compliant with data protection laws and privacy regulations, especially if dealing with contracts involving the handling of sensitive or personal data.
- Procurement Processes: Knowledge of IT procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor selection, and procurement best practices.
- Supplier management: Identify and implement supplier development activities to deliver value-for-money outcomes, including continuously improving performance and reducing cost.
- Contract delivery and performance management: Manage the commercial and benefits realisation aspects for contracts, including undertaking the operational contract management of Master Service Agreements.
- Pipeline management: Prioritise and manage contracts in the pipeline, to ensure that there are no gaps in organisational provision and can recommend ways to address pipeline gaps.
- Security Awareness: Awareness of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure that contracts include appropriate security measures.

Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or 10+ years of measurable experience, encompassing procurement, supply chain, commerce, law or business administration is highly desirable.
- Experience / understanding of government procurement and policies will be highly desirable.
