Position Details
About the role:
- The Project Officer, Service System Design – Adult and Older Adult, fulfills a key role in the Core Functions and Community team.
- A focus for the team in the immediate future is to continue to progress the design of community-based mental health and wellbeing services, in response to recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. The objective of this work is to establish holistic services, delivered in community settings, near to where people live.

How you'll make a difference:
- Project and policy support for implementation of major mental health and wellbeing reforms.
- Contribute to the development of project plans and provision of advice and sound recommendations to senior management and government.
- Assist in developing program initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
- Assist in the monitoring and reporting of high priority issues, risks and trends and support the development of reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions.
- Respond flexibly and adapt approaches in order to deliver outcomes in the face of uncertainty.
- Apply a strong evidence base, and a range of approaches and tools, to investigate, assess and advise on the political and practical implications of government policy.
- Assist in providing advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate collaboration across the department and with key external stakeholders.
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to public policy, project management and/or health is desirable.
- A demonstrated record of achievement in developing policy or providing policy advice on initiatives and a sound understanding of the Victorian health system would be advantageous.
