The Department of Treasury and Finance provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies. We strive for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians.
Group/Division/Branch
This role is based within the Strategic Communications Team within the Strategic Communications and Executive Services Group, part of the Budget and Finance Division. The Division leads the development of financial policy advice to the Government and the Victorian public sector through detailed analysis of key policy priorities—including resource allocation, financial risk and government service performance, financial reporting frameworks, and the state's budget position—to inform and support the publication of key whole-of-state financial reports and the annual state budget.
The Strategic Communications Team provides expert communications services and event and issues management advice to assist DTF in implementing its projects and programs. The team manages the Department's strategic communications, media relations, websites, intranet, internal communications, and social media channels. It also provides production, graphic design, digital, and video production services.
About the role
This Senior Strategic Communications Adviser role is part of the Strategic Communications Team, which comprises four teams: Media and Communications, Digital and Corporate Communications, Production, and Strategic Communications.
This role reports to the Strategic Communications Manager and is responsible for supporting strategic communications and stakeholder engagement activities. Additionally, the role will work closely with the Digital and Corporate Communications Manager to support the delivery of the internal, external and digital communications accountabilities of the position.
About you
We are seeking applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in: Strategic planning and communication; Stakeholder engagement; Internal communication; Content planning; Digital products and Project management.
• Tertiary qualification/s in the fields related to communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, marketing and/or 5-8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Understanding the VPS communication environment and current corporate communication issues and trends is highly regarded. Experience and qualifications
