Position Details

The Opportunity 

The Senior Budget Analyst will assist with the responsibilities of project financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and the provision of financial advice for the Authority. It will maintain VHBA's financial policies, structure, and budget management systems, supported by operating guidance and governance processes.

  • Contribute to the investigation and implementation of critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards and operating practices
  • Routinely provide advice on finance policy, risks, trends and provide solutions
  • Review and report on issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions for the Authority

We are looking for: 

  • Excellent financial skills with expertise in capital budgeting and financial analysis
  • Good working knowledge of the Project Development and Construction Management Act and Financial Management Act.
  • A keen eye for natural systems and community linkages to inform policy and define organizational systems
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills; adept at handling complexity, reasoning through problems, and generating creative ideas linked to innovation
