About Us:

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services.

As a service agency within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour. In doing so, Corrections Victoria delivers a safe and secure corrections system that actively engages offenders and the community to promote positive behaviour change.

About the Role:

The primary purpose of the Business Support Officer will deliver confidential business support services across Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU) & Electronic Monitoring Services (EMS). Reporting to the Project Manager CVIU, the Business Support Officer will have the capacity to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment and can be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work.

The role of a Business Support Officer:

  • Provides efficient administrative services to the State-wide Services Building including the coordination, management and resolving issues for the SSB building including building maintenance, issuing of security passes, biometric key safe, and procurement of office and building supplies.
  • Facilitation of technical support for meetings and conferences at SSB, ensuring the optimal operation of meeting spaces and associated equipment.
  • Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration between different business units and efficient building management.

There may be a requirement to occassionally attend other locations.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in, or capacity to quickly learn and use, Corrections Victoria and Department of Justice and Community Safety systems and applications.
  • Effective use of computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, internet and intranet functions.
  • Ability to produce a range of complex business correspondence and reports presenting clear, factual and pertinent information based on knowledge, research and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • No formal qualifications are required for this position. 

Experience in the use of Microsoft Office is highly desirable.
