Position Details

About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking applications from Peer Support Workers to provide peer support to families and carers of individuals using Older Adult Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services at South West Healthcare.

Based in Warrnambool with regional travel and community outreach a requirement.

Position overview

  • Part-time (40 hours per fortnight), On-going position
  • Warrnambool Campus
  • Classification: Lived Experience Worker Level 1, or 2 based on experience
  • Salary Range: $62,082.80 - $73,065.20 pro rata, plus superannuation

This position is eligible for an incentive payment for rent, childcare, relocation costs and more, as part of the new workforce and incentive grants program administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV) up to $10,000.

The successful applicant will bring lived experience as a Family member, Carer or Loved one of a person who has used Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of recovery principles, including trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches. You will offer expertise in peer support, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and exhibit a compassionate, collaborative approach while working effectively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams.
