Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for Cancer care? South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to join our esteemed Oncology team.

 About the role

At South West Healthcare, we are committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to our community. Our Day Oncology Unit, located within the state-of-the-art South West Regional Cancer Centre, offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families. Operating Monday to Thursday, our 10 chair Chemotherapy Unit provides comprehensive cancer services enabling patients to be treated from diagnosis through all options of treatment.

You will be responsible for providing evidenced-based care to Oncology and Haematology patients as well as other conditions requiring specialist infusional care. You will join an expanding comprehensive oncology services department and be part of an exceptionally patient-focused team who are friendly and passionate about providing individualised care. 

You will play a key role in:

  • Delivering high quality nursing care and an exceptional patient experience within the Day Oncology Unit
  • Utilising your critical thinking skills and evidence-based approach to the clinical care of patients
  • Offering oncology education and support to patients and their families
  • Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst providing high standards of patient care

Position Overview

  • Part-time (32 hours per fortnight), Fixed-term position
  • Commencing in May 2025 until February 2026
  • Warrnambool Campus
  • Registered Nurse Grade 2
  • Salary Range: $81,364.40 - $100,146.80 pro rata, plus superannuation

What you bring

 The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Have relevant postgraduate experience in oncology nursing.
  • Have a passion for delivering patient-centred care with a focus on meeting the physical, emotional, and social needs of individuals and their families.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development and education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in oncology care.
