Position Details

Part-Time (0.6 FTE)

$92,600-$105,064 FTE pa plus statutory superannuation (pro rata for part time)

We are on the lookout for a motivated and proactive administrator to join our Risk team at VIT part-time (0.6 FTE). This role is ideal for professionals with experience in, though not limited to, risk, compliance, administration, governance or audit. Are you organised, detail oriented, and keen to grow within the field of risk and incident management? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, where you are juggling multiple priorities while supporting a high-performing team? While prior experience in risk management is an advantage, we also welcome applications from fast learners who are eager to develop these skills and make meaningful contribution.

About the role

This role will require you to:

  • Support the execution of strategies related to risk management initiatives
  • Work within a team-based environment to support VIT staff to monitor VIT's internal audit program
  • Prepare reports on audit and assurance functions to the Audit Risk Management Finance Committee, Council and other forums as required.
  • Maintain VIT's incident management system, including the response and escalation as appropriate to incident notifications.

About you

In this role you will play a key part in supporting the organisation by identifying solutions, addressing emerging needs and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will enable you to manage and present information effectively while your interpersonal skills will support collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders. 

You will have sound and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft 365 as well as strong problem solving and organisational skills are essential. You will be required to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines and handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.  In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will have: 

  1. Experience in providing high level administrative coordination as well as a demonstrated ability to prepare presentations, reports and briefing papers.  
  2. Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and ways to innovate; offers suggestions and ideas, encourages others to do the same.
  3. Defines tasks to be delivered to meet agreed outcomes
  4. Experience with risk management and/or internal audit within a government context would be well regarded.
