Position Details

Service Victoria is the one place to go for government services. It's our job to make things easy. Our customers give our services an overall 96% satisfaction score, and our app was the most downloaded in Australia for 2021.   

The Service Victoria culture is dynamic and fast-paced, we're not what you'd expect from a government department. We work flexibly and remotely, using our workspace in Footscray. We have a mature digital services platform of contemporary cloud-based infrastructure, technical architecture and scalable and reusable common capabilities, with real-time integration into agency legacy systems.  

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. 

Service Victoria and DGS are bringing important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.   

We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.  

 

The Social Media Coordinator will manage Service Victoria's online and social media presence. This is a 6 months fixed term maternity leave backfill.  

You'll be responsible for setting up and maintaining a sustainable social media presence to help and inform customers so more people can successfully access and use our services.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop Service Victoria's social media strategy and build organisational capability so social media becomes another important channel to deliver great customer service.
  • Regularly create and publish targeted content that builds Service Victoria's online audience and informs customers how they can easily get things done with government by using Service Victoria.
  • Monitor and listen to customer feedback on social media and prepare responses as required.
  • Implement tools which can analyse the impact of the social media channels and produce regular reports with actionable insights on effectiveness and progress.

 

Key selection criteria

  • An ability to design, plan and execute social media campaigns which deliver on goals and objectives.
  • Experience successfully building brand profile and creating awareness using social media and digital marketing.
  • A skilled and creative writer capable of producing clear, engaging content in various mediums across a range of platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of emerging social media trends and how to apply them to building online audiences and helping customers get answers.
