About us
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for coordinating procurement activity to support delivery of Regulation Policy's 2025/26 Work Program. This includes coordinating each stage of the procurement cycle from Planning, Market Approach, Evaluation, Selection and Award to Contract Management.
The Senior Procurement Officer requires the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships across the branch, department and with suppliers, using influence and negotiation skills, alongside effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management skills and an understanding of government will be essential in the delivery of the position's purpose.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to:
- Provide the highest level of timely and strategic advice and support the Director, Executive Director, Deputy Secretary, Secretary and the department's Ministers.
- Lead the development of procurement activity that supports regulatory and legislative reform and implementation in the Consumer Affairs portfolio.
- Drive major procurements, including RFQ preparation, so they are completed accurately and timely, in accordance with departmental procedures and government regulations.
- Assist with development of procurement and funding documentation including specifications, statements of requirements, tender or submission documents, contracts, selection and approval reports
