Position Details

  • An exciting opportunity to work in the Emergency Management Victoria, State Control Centre, as a Senior Project Officer
  • Full time, Fixed term for 12 months
  • Attractive VPS 5 salary between $113,022 - $136,747 + superannuation

What does the business unit do?

Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Operations

The purpose of the Operations directorate is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.

What will the role do?

Support the implementation of a new operating model for the State Control Centre, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption.

Key tasks include:

  • Develop, manage, and execute the implementation plan for the new State Control Centre Prepare and review project documentation including reports, plans, budgets and briefing materials and communication products for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Organise, participate in and facilitate project meetings, provide secretariat support for meetings and follow up of action items.
  • Contribute to the project planning and coordinate change and communication strategies
  • Establish and maintain the project schedule and work breakdown structure including monitoring work against the baseline and report on status.

What skills and knowledge should a Senior Project Officer have?

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Experience in the delivery of workplace change projects and communication strategies
  • Knowledge of the principles and processes of project management, project lifecycle stages and project management software
  • A relevant qualification in Project or Change Management and or communications would be desirable.
