Position Details

South West Healthcare's Portland Community Mental Health Service is offering a fixed-term parental leave positions for a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team. You will work within a multidisciplinary service providing specialised mental health care to adults aged 26-65 across the Portland region. Our team is dedicated to delivering recovery-focused support, including crisis intervention, therapeutic care, and long-term recovery support for people living with complex or enduring mental illness.

About the Role
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care to individuals, families, and carers. You will engage community and natural supports to help consumers achieve their goals and improve their mental wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and developing individualised recovery and treatment plans
  • Managing a clinical caseload with outreach-based support
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions to consumers, carers and families
  • Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Building community partnerships and supporting service development
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
  • Participating in clinical supervision, ongoing training, and professional development

Position Details

  • Fixed Term - Parental Leave Cover
  • 8 FTE until March 2026
  • 8 FTE until September 2026
  • Location: Portland Campus
  • Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3, Social Worker/Occupational Therapist Grade 2/Psychologist Grade 2
  • Salary Range: $88,030 - $112,091 per annum, (pro rata) plus superannuation

As the successful application you will be a compassionate and motivated clinician with:

  • A recognised qualification and registration in one of the following:
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse (with AHPRA)
  • Occupational Therapist (with AHPRA)
  • Psychologist (with AHPRA)
  • Social Worker (eligible for AASW membership)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • A genuine passion for recovery-focused mental health care
