About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Centralised Triage Team, a dynamic and essential part of our mental health service. This team plays a vital role in conducting timely mental health screening assessments and ensuring consumers are connected to the right services for their needs. Where specialist mental health care is not the best fit, the team provides warm, thoughtful referrals to alternative supports and providers.

As a Senior Clinician, you will take a leadership role in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented mental health triage services. You will provide direct clinical care while supporting and mentoring your team, ensuring consistent, compassionate, and effective service delivery across a 24/7 roster. Position overview

  • Type: Part time, Ongoing (64 hours per fortnight), across a 24/7 roster.
  • Location: Warrnambool Campus
  • Classification and Salary Range (pro rata+ superannuation):
    • Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4: $112,465.60 - $121,113.20
    • Social Worker Grade 3: $101,597.60 - $116,074.40
    • Occupational Therapist Grade 3: $101,597.60 - $116,074.40
    • Psychologist Grade 3: $108,279.60 - $123,905.60

What you bring:

You will join a collaborative and highly skilled multidisciplinary team where strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. You will bring a solid understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and contemporary mental health practices, along with a commitment to delivering recovery-focused care.

Requirements by profession:

Registered Psychiatric Nurse

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in mental health service delivery
  • Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing (e.g., Postgraduate Diploma or Master's)
    or completion of a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program

Social Worker

  • Degree in Social Work
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in mental health service delivery

Occupational Therapist

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in mental health service delivery

Psychologist

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist
  • Minimum 5 years' experience delivering mental health services
