About the role:
As a Senior Project Officer within Safer Care Victoria's Medicines and Pharmacy Improvement team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of statewide reform initiatives, including the Victorian Statewide Medicines Formulary. Working under the guidance of the Principal Project Manager, you will lead sub-projects and work packages that contribute to safer, more effective, and sustainable use of medicines across Victoria.
In this dynamic and evolving role, you will:
- Lead and deliver project components aligned to the Medicines and Pharmacy Improvement portfolio, applying project management, implementation science, and improvement methodologies, and drawing on evidence from literature, data analysis, and stakeholder insights to inform decision-making.
- Engage directly with external stakeholders, including clinicians, pharmacists, health services, consumers, and government representatives, to support collaborative reform efforts.
- Provide secretariat and logistical leadership for governance and advisory committees, ensuring effective coordination, documentation, and follow-up.
- Contribute to program evaluation and policy development, using data, evidence, and stakeholder insights to inform continuous improvement.
- Support the operationalisation of the Victorian Statewide Medicines Formulary, helping embed reform into practice and drive measurable improvements in safety, equity, and quality.
- Work collaboratively within a matrix team environment, contributing to shared goals and supporting cross-functional initiatives within the Medicines and Pharmacy Improvement team.
- Adapt and grow with the program, with opportunities to take on leadership of new initiatives and expand your influence across the health system.
This role is ideal for experienced project professionals with a background in healthcare, quality use of medicines, clinical governance, or system improvement, who thrive in complexity and are passionate about driving meaningful change.
