About the role
South West Healthcare is seeking an inspiring and skilled Team Leader-Mental Health Clinician to guide our dedicated Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement (HOPE) team.
The HOPE team, part of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Directorate, delivers a compassionate, person-centred outreach service that supports individuals following a suicide attempt or during a suicidal crisis. Our team empowers people to rebuild hope and connection through assertive, non-clinical engagement and strong community partnerships.
As the HOPE Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving this service. Working closely with the Manager of Referral Services, you will:
- Lead and motivate a skilled and passionate multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee service delivery and allocation of casework to ensure high-quality, person-centred care.
- Guide the ongoing growth and development of the HOPE program.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and professional support to staff.
- Foster collaboration, innovation, and a supportive team culture.
What you bring
You will be a values-driven mental health professional with a passion for leadership and service excellence. You will bring:
- Relevant qualifications and registration with the appropriate Board or Association (Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy).
- Extensive experience in mental health clinical services and a strong understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, organise, and coordinate a multidisciplinary team.
- A deep understanding of assertive outreach and recovery models of care.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
- The confidence to work with autonomy, think strategically, and drive service innovation and improvement.

Employment Terms and Conditions will be in line with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2020-202 or Medical Scientists, Pharmacists and Psychologists Victorian Public Sector (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 with classification at Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4 or Social Worker/Occupational Therapist/Psychologist Grade 3, and corresponding salary range.
