Position Details
About the role:
Managing the Maternity and Newborn Improvement team this position will provide oversight for projects focused on improving health outcomes by reducing preventable harm and unnecessary interventions for those interacting with the maternal and newborn areas of the health care system.
The role will lead a team of improvement specialists, and partner with people with lived experience and clinical/practice expertise to implement large-scale health improvement initiatives. The initiatives will utilise the model for improvement and evidence-based change methodologies to improve the quality of treatment, care and support in Victoria.
Reporting to the Director Improvement UNIT 2, the Manager is responsible for managing the team's work and developing their capability to create an environment in which new ideas and creative solutions to problems in healthcare delivery can be implemented and sustained. The role also works with other teams in Safer Care Victoria and engages senior clinical, practice, health sector and lived-experience executives.

About you:
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to health administration, medicine, nursing, midwifery, paramedic, pharmacist or allied health would be desirable.
- A Masters qualification in public health, business administration or similar desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of model for improvement is highly regarded.
- Previous experience working in the health sector would be desirable.
