Position Details

About the role: 

The Project Director, Planning and Engagement role will lead development of an implementation plan and a consumer engagement project in response to the Rapid Review of Assisted Reproductive Technology and In Vitro Fertilisation Regulation and Accreditation in Australia (the Review). These are nationally significant projects with Victoria leading the implementation planning and consumer engagement projects for States and Territories as directed by the Health Ministers. The position will lead a dedicated team of direct reports to complete the projects.

The Project Director will bring key executive capabilities to projects including forming and managing project teams, navigating new and different authorising environments, communicating effectively to senior executives and government and quickly comprehending new and complex material. The Director will also lead engagement with key stakeholders including the Commonwealth, consumers and regulatory bodies and ensure delivery of intended outcomes.

The Project Director will demonstrate expertise in stakeholder engagement and facilitation, with the ability to analyse and synthesise complex data to draw evidence-based conclusions and translate those into actionable recommendations that support the implementation of the Review outcomes.

The Project Director provides strategic knowledge of and proven experience in managing complex projects underpinned by rigorous project management processes. The position requires high quality project coordination skills to ensure delivery of all components. The position will lead on solutions to mitigate a range of complex risks, often competing priorities and stakeholder requirements.

Mandatory qualifications:

  • A graduate tertiary qualification in fields related to health, public policy, government administration, business and/or management.
  • Post graduate tertiary qualifications in the field of health or public policy. 
  • Record of achievement in delivering complex projects underpinned by rigorous project management processes.
