About us
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
Working in Consumer Affairs Victoria, the Adviser Reporting and Coordination is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of planning and performance management framework for business units within the Consumer Affairs and Local Government group. This is achieved through supporting business planning processes, data collation and analysis, and producing regular reports and briefings for internal and external audiences.
The Adviser works with key internal stakeholders across Consumer Affairs and Local Government group to ensure that business planning and reporting is timely and of a high quality.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Collate data, monitor and analyse the Group's performance against targets for internal reporting processes including but not limited to quarterly activity / BP3 Reporting for DGS and the Department of Treasury and Finance.
- Provide high-level support in the coordination and management of internal performance reporting requirements for the Group producing an accurate overview of internal operations in a timely manner.
- Coordinate ad hoc reporting to support requests from the Deputy Secretary; Consumer Affairs Victoria executives; DGS and the Minister's Office.
- Initiate and establish productive stakeholder relationships to support the delivery of the annual business planning cycle and related monitoring activities.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Demonstrated skills in data collection, analysis and reporting of project and organisational performance.
- Demonstrated skills in coordinating reports with data and information sourced from multiple business areas and teams
- Experience in business planning processes.
- An understanding of government reporting frameworks and a track record in providing quantitative advice.
- Demonstrated skills in problem-solving and working with internal stakeholders to reach a shared outcome.
Mandatory requirements
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in a data-related field would be highly regarded.
