Nurse Unit Manager – Amherst Ward

Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced leader to join the team in our Amherst Ward, working as the Nurse Unit Manager in this Permanent Full Time position! The successful applicant will be a dynamic leader with recent clinical experience and in charge management skills, with a strong cultural focus. In this role, you will lead and manage a diverse team, ensuring that the team members deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Advanced clinical nursing skills with clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of the National Standards and Quality cycle.
  • Manages and engages consistent with MDHS values of GREAT.
  • Experience in management of change process and development of new services.
  • Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Able to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders

KSC1 - Demonstrated advanced clinical nursing skills with relevant experience in the clinical speciality.

KSC2 - Demonstrated excellence in leadership and management competencies.

KSC3 - Manages and engages with stakeholders consistent with MDHS values of GREAT

KSC4 - Experience in management of change process and development of new services.

KSC5 - Knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues including workplace health and safety, equal opportunity and anti-discrimination.

KSC6 - A working knowledge of the National Standards.

KSC7 - A highly developed knowledge of the Quality cycle.

KSC8 - Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
