Position Details
The Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Portfolio Strategy & Development leads a critical capability within the Portfolio Strategy & Development team, driving strategic initiatives and industry mobilisation to support Victoria's transition to a clean energy future. The position is accountable for the development and delivery of the organisation's Strategic Implementation Plan and for coordinating a diverse range of industry, technical and government stakeholders to achieve integrated outcomes.
What you will deliver
- Lead portfolio-level strategic initiatives enabling delivery of VicGrid's transmission infrastructure program, including the Victorian Transmission Plan.
- Oversee major investment and planning artefacts, including the development and delivery of VicGrid's Strategic Implementation Plan.
- Drive cross-portfolio initiatives across industry, supply chain, program packaging and community to enable effective implementation of works.
- Coordinate alignment across government, institutions and strategic partners to ensure shared objectives and integrated delivery.
- Integrate specialist capability across technical, commercial and business disciplines to support strategic development and delivery outcomes.
- Establish portfolio-level risk and control mechanisms while embedding cultural safety through inclusive, discrimination-free systems and practices.
What you will bring
- Experience in strategic planning in a complex infrastructure project environment and working with infrastructure lifecycle processes and approaches to innovative initiatives.
- Tertiary qualification in business, economics, engineering, environmental management or science related discipline is mandatory.
- Proven experience in the preparation of business cases, strategic planning, and processes related to the development of infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of infrastructure business development and industry dependencies relevant to major infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of the preparation of external consultant briefs and the management of consultants to achieve timely and quality outputs.
