About us
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
Leading a team of dedicated product professionals, you will oversee the delivery of product initiatives, collaborate closely with different teams and departments and use feedback and data to guide decisions and make improvements. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of everyday Victorians.
Key Accountabilities
- Define and execute on the product strategy and roadmap, whilst ensuring it contributes to the overarching business strategy. Understand and follow current and emerging technologies relating to digital applications, and incorporate into product roadmap where appropriate.
- Lead and manage a team of Product Managers and Product Owners across multiple value streams. Build the team's capability in agile methodologies, capacity to deliver and culture of excellence.
- Analyse customer feedback and the overall the performance of the product portfolio from a business, agency and client perspective to identify and prioritise enhancements to improve Service Victoria's products and the experience for customers.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Creates a culture that supports and respects the individuality of others and recognises the benefits of diverse ideas and approaches; communicates well with, relates to and sees issues from the perspective of people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds.
- Provides thought leadership and high level advice around capability development at VPS level; has knowledge of external factors relating to capability development such as demographic trends, skills shortages and future workforce requirements; appropriately delegates responsibilities to further the development of others; fosters talent and builds capability of others across the organisation.
- 7+ years' experience in technology within high-paced, agile environments, in both a B2C and B2B Enterprise space.
