About the role: Fixed Term Full-Time from 2 February 2026 to 29 January 2027
The Principal Public Health Medical Officer plays a key role in relation to developing, delivering and improving investigation and control activities in Victoria's health protection activities.
This position is responsible for providing authoritative public health advice, information and direction to departmental officers, management, key stakeholders and members of the community. This job offers an excellent opportunity for those wishing to develop skills in public health protection policy and planning, and public health emergency management. It would suit someone undertaking advanced training in public health medicine.
This position is required to participate in an on-call roster and provide response outside of standard business hours and as such the position is expected to be available to contribute to the branch response, including after-hours work and stand-by duties.

About you:
- Full and current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Fellow or trainee (or eligibility to join training) of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine.
- Knowledge and experience in public health medicine, particularly involving communicable diseases and/or environmental health.
