About the Role
The South East Region Learning & Development Team schedules, coordinates and delivers operational learning and training priorities across the Region and contributes to state-wide learning initiatives. The Learning and Development Coordinator ensures RTO compliance and plans and coordinates training that enhances and strengthens volunteer capabilities, supporting their roles in delivering CFA services. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, and Applicants MUST HOLD Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 16 or 22) and have an understanding of the arrangements, standards and environment of an RTO.
Key responsibilities of the role will include the following:
- Collaborate with each district's Acting Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) and key stakeholders, including F&EM and DPC Training Sub-Committees, to identify training needs, validate objectives and develop effective, workable training plans and schedules.
- Coordinate and deliver district training and assessment activities by scheduling sessions, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders and providers.
- Prepare, coordinate and maintain training resources and materials, including tracking, ordering and managing inventory to ensure availability and quality.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on training activities and performance measures by implementing evaluation processes, analysing data and presenting findings and recommendations to support continuous improvement and planning.
- Support organisational capability development by ensuring learning and assessment materials comply with AQTF standards to maintain CFA's RTO status.
- Plan, record and monitor instructor utilisation in partnership with the Lead Learning and Development team, ensuring compliance with Enterprise Agreement (EBA) requirements and proactively addressing potential issues.
- Manage training inventory, records and systems, including accurate data entry, processing, assessment, validation, archiving and administrative support for the LMS and SMS to ensure high-quality data control.
- Supervise and support administration staff to maintain agreed standards and outputs and prepare responses to requests for information on member training activities.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- MUST HOLD Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent and an understanding of the arrangements, standards and environment of an RTO.
- Well-developed written communication skills to develop reports & correspondence and to convey training information and objectives to internal & external customers.
- Proven administrative skills and experience including word processing, spread sheets and ability to utilise a variety of enterprise-wide systems and applications.
- A contemporary understanding of competency-based learning & development business practices
- Proven ability to manage numerous, varied and concurrent projects within budget, quality and time parameters.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as an effective member of a (virtual) team
