Food and Domestic Services Assistant
Inglewood & Districts Health Service (IDHS) is situated in the Shire of Loddon and provides services to more than 5,500 residents in the communities of Bridgewater, Inglewood, Korong Vale, Newbridge, Serpentine, Tarnagulla, Wedderburn and surrounding townships.
All IDHS facilities are conveniently located on one site – encompassing urgent care, acute, community and residential aged care.
IDHS also offers a diverse range of services including diabetes education, community and district nursing, counselling, cardiac rehabilitation, planned activity groups, volunteer and strength training programs.

Position Details
Position Title: Food & Domestic Services Assistant
Classification: IN14
Salary range per hour: $27.07 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options
Employment Type: Ongoing part-time 36 hours per fortnight
Award: Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025
Role description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Food & Domestic Services Assistant to provide high‑quality cleaning and patient/resident movement support across our hospital and aged care facilities. This role is essential to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment and ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of those in our care.
- Provide patient and resident movement services while supporting the daily operations of Environmental Services across the health service.
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure all areas are cleaned thoroughly and maintained to a high standard.
- Perform all cleaning duties in accordance with prescribed routines, infection control guidelines, and the Cleaning Standards for Victorian Health Facilities.
- Complete all required documentation, including cleaning checklists, accurately for each shift.
- Ensure cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies are adequately stocked, properly stored, and aligned with relevant MSDS requirements.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents and/or their carers regarding cleaning needs and service delivery.
This role may require assistance in the preparation, cooking and service of food within the hospital and aged care facilities.
