  • Salary Range: $81,733.60 - $104,390.23 (pro rata, plus superannuation and applicable penalties)

South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking motivated and compassionate Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) to join our Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (MHAIU) at our Warrnambool campus.

This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a dedicated and supportive multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality, recovery focused care in a 24/7 inpatient environment. Our service is closely integrated with community mental health teams and the Prevention and Recovery Centre, ensuring seamless support for consumers and their carers across the South West region of Victoria.

 About the role

As an RPN in the MHAIU, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive assessments and contribute to individualised care planning
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions that support recovery, wellbeing, and resilience
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, their families, and carers to foster positive outcomes
  • Contribute to a safe, therapeutic, and person-centred environment for consumers and staff
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, supporting innovation and best practice
  • Be part of a service that values teamwork, professional growth, and compassionate care

What you bring

We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled nurses who are committed to delivering excellence in mental health care. You will bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • You will have a minimum of three years' post‑registration experience as a Mental Health Nurse within a Mental Health acute inpatient unit.
  • A commitment to recovery-oriented practice and consumer-centred care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing (or working towards) highly regarded.
