What you will be doing
Reporting to the Senior Recruitment Advisor, People Services, this role sits within the People Services team and plays a key role in delivering high-quality recruitment services across the organization – think diverse teams, stakeholders and role types – if you like variety this will fit the bill!
As one of two Recruitment Advisors managing ongoing and fixed term vacancies, with the support of an engaged leader and an amazing Recruitment Officer, you will provide timely, accurate and practical advice to support hiring outcomes in a complex public sector environment.
As such, this role takes on the following key responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end recruitment processes for a broad range of roles, ensuring a seamless and candidate-focused experience
- Provide clear, practical recruitment advice and guidance to Hiring Managers and internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the VEC to support effective recruitment outcomes
- Collaborates with the Recruitment Officer to support hiring administration from requisition stage, advertising and through to contract creation, onboarding, induction etc.
- Manage vacancies across digital and manual platforms including Springboard, SharePoint, Excel, Microsoft Teams and our people inbox
- Ensure our hiring communities and team remain compliant with recruitment policies, procedures and public sector requirements being adhered to
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of recruitment processes, documentation and systems
- Produce recruitment reporting and support data analysis to inform workforce planning and People initiatives
- Represent the People Branch professionally and promote People Services initiatives across the organisation
What you will bring to the role
You're a capable and adaptable recruitment professional who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working with a wide range of stakeholders. You're comfortable operating with autonomy, balancing competing priorities and providing high-quality advice in a busy and productive environment. You'll take a consultative approach with your hiring communities and can meet people at their level of knowledge and familiarity, working side by side to deliver outcomes and offers.
In addition to this, you have:
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end recruitment services for a diverse range of roles, ideally within a complex or public sector environment
- Sound knowledge of recruitment-related legislation, policies and enterprise agreement provisions
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted, productive relationships
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
- Systems literacy and confidence working with recruitment and HR systems and data – manually and digitally
- An agile mindset that drives efficient outcomes and is open to flexible ways of working and collaborating
- A commitment to VEC's values and ways of working

- 6.2: Demonstrated success in managing end to end recruitment for a broad range of roles with experience in hiring different levels of seniority and for volume hiring projects
