What you will be doing

Reporting to one of the Managers, Election Staffing, these roles sit within the Election Staffing team and provide project support to project leads delivering major recruitment and workforce management projects for the 2026 state election.

In this role, you will:
• Support project leads in the planning and delivery of large-scale recruitment and workforce management projects
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to drive decisions, resolve issues and progress project deliverables
• Develop, review and improve election staffing policies, procedures and operational documentation to ensure they are clear, practical and fit for purpose
• Support the planning and delivery of high-volume recruitment activities, including liaison with external providers such as labour hire agencies where required
• Provide advice, reporting and input to support branch leadership, project working groups and planning activities.

What you will bring to the role

You bring experience working in project-based environments where you've supported the delivery of complex, time-sensitive work. You're comfortable coordinating across teams to get things done, and you communicate clearly in writing – whether that's drafting procedures, preparing reports or producing operational documentation. You don't need a background in elections; what matters is transferable experience in high-volume, fast-paced settings and a willingness to learn quickly.

In addition to this, you have:
• Experience supporting or coordinating projects with competing priorities and firm deadlines, ideally in a high-volume staffing, recruitment or other operational environment
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring people together, drive decisions and maintain productive working relationships across teams
• Well-developed written communication skills, including experience preparing policies, procedures or business documentation for varied audiences
• A proactive and adaptable approach – you take initiative, ask good questions and thrive in environments where priorities can shift
• Commitment to the VEC's core values
