• Psychologist Grade 2: $94,478.80 - $106,906.80

About the role

The intake role within the Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing stream is responsible to undertake evidence informed, family inclusive, initial needs and intake assessments for people aged 12-25 within required timeframes following initial triage screening by the Centralised Triage Team. Assessments may be completed in person, on the phone or via telehealth and incorporate assessment of substance use and addictions where there is a co-occurring moderate to severe mental illness.

The Mental Health Clinician may be required to deliver single sessions or primary and secondary consultation to mental health and wellbeing sector partners including Paediatricians, General Practitioners, Allied Health Providers and Headspace Centres.

Mental Health Clinicians will:

• Provide direct clinical services to individuals and groups.
• Deliver consultation and secondary support to sector partners, including General Practitioners and Paediatricians.
• Contribute to community development, mental health promotion, and education initiatives.

What you bring

• A Registered Psychiatric Nurse with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a registered nurse and have at least 2 years' experience in the provision of mental health services. It would be desirable to have a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or completion of a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program.
• An Occupational Therapist with a Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency.
• A Social Worker with a Degree in Social Work & eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
• A Psychologist who has registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Psychologist, or a Provisional Psychologist completing a 5+1 program for psychology are supported and eligible to apply.
• Strong understanding of recovery-oriented practice and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
• Proven ability to work both autonomously and within a team, demonstrating initiative, sound judgement, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
