About the role

South West Healthcare's (SWH) Allied Health Team is dedicated to delivering exceptional services to individuals and groups of all ages through various community and hospital programs. Operating within a multidisciplinary framework comprising Allied Health, Nursing, and Medical services, the team aims to deliver best practice care to its diverse patient base.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to contribute to the interdisciplinary program serving patients in the Rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation & Management (GEM) unit. In this role, the AHA will work closely under the guidance and supervision of  Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Pathologist assigned to the Rehab/GEM unit.

The primary objective of this position is to facilitate and optimise each patient's functional abilities in personal and domestic daily living skills. By doing so, the AHA will play a vital role in aiding patients' transition from the hospital to their discharge destination, fostering independence within their home environment.
