2027 Graduate Aged Care Program

Applications are now open for South West Healthcare’s 2027 Aged / General Graduate Nurse Program, a 12-month opportunity (part-time, 64 hours per fortnight) across Warrnambool and Camperdown. This program provides a supportive transition to practice, combining rotations in aged care at Leura Aged Care in Camperdown and general nursing in a hospital setting, enabling graduates to build skills across diverse environments. With structured clinical support and a strong focus on professional development, participants may have the opportunity for ongoing employment upon completion. Positions are allocated via the PMCV Aged Stream Computer Matching process, and applicants must meet PMCV eligibility criteria, with interstate and New Zealand graduates encouraged to apply.

About our 2027 GNP - PMCV “Aged” Stream.

SWH believe in providing a highly supportive environment for all Graduate Nurses that encourages professional development and excellence in nursing care. Our aim is to provide clinical structured support during the transition from student to Registered Nurse, whilst encouraging self-directed learning.

This program commencing in early 2027 offers the opportunity for participants to consolidate and apply theoretical knowledge by developing skills in a variety of settings. Comprising two 6-months rotations in Leura Aged Care based at our Camperdown Hospital and another 6-month rotation within general nursing at either Camperdown or Warrnambool campus of South West Healthcare. Participants have the option to work part time hours at 64 hours per fortnight within a 12-month program with the option for permanent, ongoing employment subject to the successful completion of the program. Rotations are available in Camperdown, Warrnambool or mixed across campus.

All our GNP positions are subject to the state-wide Computer Matching process, conducted by the Post Graduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV). All public health Graduate Nurse Positions are allocated in Victoria through this Computer Matching Service. To be eligible for our GNP you must meet the PMCV eligibility criteria as per the PMCV Candidate handbook. Graduates of interstate or New Zealand Universities can still apply for places via PMCV.
