Senior Education and Compliance Specialist
Fixed term opportunity – 2 Years

Salary range Grade 5: $106,845 - $129,273
At VIT, we are seeking an experienced Senior Education and Compliance Specialist to lead the development and delivery of education, compliance and engagement initiatives that support regulatory obligations across Victoria's teaching workforce.
About the role
As the Senior Education and Compliance Specialist, you will lead education and compliance initiatives to strengthen the understanding of regulatory requirements around permission to teach (PTT). This includes working with the education sector to design and implement PTT supervision and support agreements, as well as monitoring compliance with the agreements across the sector.
You will develop evidence-based education strategies, create engaging learning and communication materials, deliver presentations and workshops, and work closely with a broad range of stakeholders including teachers, employers, education providers, government agencies and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver education, training, and engagement initiatives that promote understanding of permission to teach registration and compliance requirements.
- Develop high quality resources, presentations, guidance materials, and stakeholder communications.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with teachers, schools, education providers, and key stakeholders.
- Deliver presentations and workshops, and undertake consultation with diverse audiences across Victoria.
- Design approaches to effectively monitor compliance outcomes and contribute to risk-based strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations to support informed decision making.
- Collaborate across teams to drive project outcomes and enhance regulatory education and compliance activities.
About you
You are a highly organised and self-motivated professional who thrives in a role that combines education, stakeholder engagement, compliance, and project delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across a wide range of audiences.
- Strong understanding of best-practice induction and mentoring of teachers, in particular pre-service teachers, new graduates and overseas qualified teachers.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical guidance.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.

KSC 4 Highly developed project management skills, including ability to
- design and implement systems and procedures
- prioritise and define clear objectives
- assess and monitor risk
- review and evaluate the effectiveness of the outcomes
KSC 7 Demonstrated understanding of school contexts, including recent teaching experience / work in the teaching profession is required
KSC 8 Experience in the delivery of risk-based compliance frameworks in registration / licensing in a regulatory environment is desired.
