Role description
Dhelkaya Health is seeking a dynamic and passionate Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead our team in delivering exceptional, patient-centred care.
In this key leadership role, you will drive high standards of clinical practice through strong leadership, role modelling, and team development. You'll oversee the coordination of staff and resources, support program delivery, and contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will use your clinical expertise and professional judgement to guide care delivery, ensuring alignment with contemporary standards and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Quality
- Ensure care is delivered to the highest possible standard
- Monitor and report on clinical KPIs monthly
- Lead audits, incident management, and quality improvement initiatives
Workforce Management
- Recruit, retain, and develop a skilled and capable workforce
- Manage staffing levels to meet service and budget requirements
- Oversee performance management and professional development
- Ensure 100% completion of annual staff appraisals
- Maintain and report on staff profiles
Operational & Business Management
- Manage unit budgets, resources, and business planning
- Monitor business KPIs and organisational performance targets
- Oversee asset and supply management
- Lead meetings and contribute to strategic planning
Safety & Risk Management
- Promote a strong safety culture with patient-centred care
- Monitor safety KPIs and lead OH&S initiatives
- Review incidents and complaints promptly and ensure closure within 30 days
- Analyse patient feedback and lead service improvements
About you
You are a highly motivated and experienced nursing leader who demonstrates:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- High level clinical knowledge and professional credibility
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive outcomes
- Commitment to continuous improvement and patient safety
- Experience in staff management, performance development, and team leadership
- Sub Acute/ Rehabilitation nursing experience
