Working in partnership with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), cancer services and local health providers, you will build on the work undertaken to date to strengthen partnerships, support the implementation of a culturally responsive model of care, and drive sustainable improvements in cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Primarily based at SWH Warrnambool, additionally you will collaborate with Gunditjmara Aboriginal Co-operative, Winda-Mara Aboriginal Corporation, Dhauwurd-Wurrung Elderly and Community Health Service and key health services across the region.
As Project Lead, you will play a key role in coordinating the initiative, supporting Aboriginal Cancer Support Officers, strengthening collaboration between services and communities, and ensuring the project continues to respond to community priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes.

- Maintain and strengthen partnerships with Aboriginal organisations, cancer services and regional health providers.
- Progress the development, implementation and embedding of a culturally safe, Aboriginal-led model of cancer care.
- Coordinate and support Aboriginal Cancer Support Officers across the region.
- Facilitate tailored workforce training and community education to improve cultural safety and cancer awareness.
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and support long-term sustainability.
- Foster strong relationships between health services and Aboriginal communities to improve access to culturally responsive cancer care.
What you bring
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health or related field.
- Experience working within the healthcare system, including primary and acute care settings.
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and their application in healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated project management, project coordination or service development experience.
- Proven ability to coordinate and deliver initiatives, manage competing priorities and achieve agreed outcomes within established timeframes.

- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and project documentation.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A commitment to culturally safe and responsive healthcare, and the ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel across the region as required.
