Position Details

About the role:

The Victoria Police Crime Command's role is to conduct high level specialist investigations to detect, disrupt and prevent serious and organised crime.

Crime Command is seeking a motivated team member to provide essential administrative support and customer service to internal and external stakeholders, within a dynamic and vigorous environment.

As a valued member of the Business Services Division, you will work with Crime Command Workgroups to meet service delivery objectives by providing a range of administrative duties including maintaining databases, correspondence, purchasing, and information management.

You may be required to undertake other functions such as administrative duties in response to changing Command priorities.

Your duties will include:

  • Being the initial point of contact for property queries
  • Performing data entry with a high-level of attention to detail across multiple Victoria Police databases and applications
  • Manual Handling and the transportation of exhibits across storage sites
  • Providing exceptional customer service experiences to internal and external stakeholders, face to face, via email and over the phone
  • Administrative duties, and assistance in the collection of data to support management
  • Auditing of exhibits

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: 

  • Well-developed emotional, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to function well within a team environment and deal appropriately with sensitive and highly confidential information and issues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate systematic and administrative records.
  • The ability to accurately process a high volume of work within strict timeframes.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in relation to data entry and software packages
  • Great organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work without supervision and meet strict deadlines set by managers.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise constantly changing workloads.
  • Willingness to be part of a dynamic hard-working team that works in a fast paced and unpredictable work environment.
  • Ability to explain and teach others processes in line with standard operating procedures, and government regulations.
  • Current and valid driver's license.
  • A proven record of ethical behavior and a commitment to the Victoria Police code of conduct and organisational values.

Further Information:

  • Two (2) x full-time, ongoing positions available.
  • These positions will be located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
