Position Details

The Road Policing Enforcement Division (RPED) and Traffic Camera Office (TCO) maintain traffic camera availability at a sufficient level to dramatically increase the likelihood of speed and red light offence detection. This deters dangerous road behaviour and establishes a base for long term modification of driver behaviour and attitudes, thereby contributing to Victoria's goal of lowering the state's road toll to fewer than 200 deaths by 2020 and reducing serious injuries by 15% in the same time period.

External stakeholders and partners include DOJR, Civica, Serco, VicRoads, and other road safety partners.

Consisting of Approximately 52 VPS staff and 23 Victoria Police members, the TCO issues all Road Safety Camera Infringements, which involves strong partnerships with DOJR and contracted service providers that maintain the traffic camera network. Functions within the TCO also include:

  • The review of all infringements;
  • Nomination of infringements;
  • Brief preparation/prosecution assistance;
  • Mobile camera roster management;
  • Infringment evidence validation;
  • Tolling infringements/prosecutions;
  • High risk driver investigations;
  • and infringement management for all of Victoria Police.

As the Administrative Support Officer, you will join the team bringing with you appropriate administrative and customer service experience. The Administrative Support Officer position provides a range of administrative relief responsibilities to management as well as effectively communicating with external clients within a diverse workforce.

Your duties will include:

  • Perform reception duties (telephone and counter enquiries) liaising with both internal and external key stakeholders;
  • Undertaking routine administrative tasks to support the TCO and management and facilitating the efficient running of business processes;
  • Providing high quality administrative support for all units in the office as required, including the efficient preparation and management of minutes and briefs and reports for management and other stakeholders;
  • Displaying a strong commitment to high quality customer service delivery standards to internal and external customers;
  • Demonstrating integrity particularly in relation to handling confidential material;
  • Other administrative duties as required.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A proven ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Flexibility and the abilitiy to prioritise tasks and motivation to achieve common goals;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, both verbally and written;
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction;
  • Strong computer skills; particularly in using Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available.
  • Your usual place of work will be the Traffic Camera Office, 277 William Street, Melbourne, however you may be required to work at any other location within the Road Policing Command as required.
