Position Details

  • VPSG4 range $81,354 - $92,304 p.a. + super + leave loading.
  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available.
  • Working within the Business, Planning and Coordination Division, Transit and Public Safety Command located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands, Melbourne*

About the role:

This successful applicant for this position will have responsibility for high level and critical IT projects within the Transit & Public Safety Command, including IT and communications uplift, ensuring interoperability between specialist areas, providing various IT related services to all Divisions within Transit & Public Safety Command to fulfil and maintain IT and communication requirements. 

The position manages IT related works and projects for extremely diverse work groups within Victoria Police, including; Search and Rescue, Water Police, Special Operations Group, Critical Incident Response Teams, Dog Squad, Mounted Branch, Air Wing, Operations Response Unit, Transit Police, Protective Services Unit and Transit Protective Services Officers.

You will need to have project management knowledge and current understanding of Mobile Device Management platforms.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Project Manager and Project Lead roles for IT capability elevation;
  • Implementation of schedules for information efficiencies through restructuring of folder drives;
  • Day to day support of Divisions within the Command to provide appropriate information access approvals;
  • Regular engagement and liaison for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Transit & Public Safety Command Intranet site;

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A solution focused approach to all facets of the role;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good knowledge of project management planning, obligations and reporting;
  • Understanding of budget requirements and ability to forecast issues;
  • The ability to work autonomously and possess a high level of initiative to solve problems;

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The successful candidate must possess a current Victorian Driver License and hold or qualify for a White Class Driver Authority within three (3) months.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Business, Planning and Coordination Division, Transit and Public Safety Command, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Command as required.
