Victoria Police provides policing services to the Victorian community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working to keep over 5.7 million Victorians safe. Employing more than 18,000 staff across the state, the objective is to deliver a safer Victoria with our partners by providing intelligence and confident policing. Focusing on the development of partnerships and working with the community to empower individuals to build a safer Victoria, this can only be achieved with a compliant but also progressive Procurement Department, being seen as a true enabler of the organisation.

 

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Corporate & Regulatory Services you will lead a program of reform in the Procurement Department, striving for a service delivery function which is agile, responsive, people focused and connected. Under your progressive leadership the team will have a greater understanding of business process analysis resulting in improvement initiatives and also a stronger partnership with the organisation, having engaged widely and operating in accordance with corporate expectations including The Victoria Police Capability Plan 2016-2025.

 

Highly regarded for your relationship management skills, you are an experienced executive who has a thorough understanding of procurement processes within the public sector. With proven negotiation skills, you have the ability to frame contracts in such a way to achieve better outcomes and are also comfortable leading change management initiatives to bring about better processes and procedures. A passionate leader, you are excited by the opportunity to lead a critical function of Victoria Police delivering best practice procurement services covering the full lifecycle of a commercial transaction from procurement planning through to contract execution and management.

 

* Your usual place of work will be within the Victoria Police Centre in the Procurement Department.
