The Position

Victoria Police are seeking to appoint an Executive Member to their HR team as Director of HR Services. The role is responsible for the leadership of approximately 100 staff across a number of distinct work groups. As a member of the Human Resource Department leadership team and reporting directly to the Executive Director, Human Resources, the position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction across the HR Services portfolio including Projects, Payroll services, HR Systems and Workforce Reporting and Analysis.

 

We are seeking an effective HR Leader with a successful track record of formulating, leading and embedding positive HR strategies and change within large, complex organisations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the skill, knowledge and ability to lead in the provision of a range of critical HR operations and services and provide strategic and authoritative advice on HR operational matters. It is expected that the incumbent will have a collaborative and responsive approach to building relationships and communicating with stakeholders and contribute effectively as a member of a senior leadership group.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the strategic leadership capabilities required for a senior management position, exemplary relationship skills, as well as personal resilience, tenacity and strong values alignment to Victoria Police. Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred.

 

The mission of Victoria Police is to ensure there is safety, security and order in our society by serving the community and the law. With the provision of 24/7 policing services to the community, and effective frontline response through 54 Police Service Areas.

 

The role of Human Resources is critical in enabling the organisation to realise its vision. The HR Services Division provides end to end payroll services to all Victoria Police staff and is responsible for the development, maintenance and support of Victoria Police's enterprise wide pay and people information system.
