Position Details

  • Working within the Records Services Division, Public Support Services Department located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street Docklands*

About the role:
Records Services Division provides various services to the frontline police and the community totaling over 1.5 million transactions each year. Due to some of the organisational initiatives, some of the functions performed by the Division are undergoing significant changes. Application of continuous improvement to explore more effective and efficient ways to deliver services is a key priority for the Division.

In addition to initiating and managing business improvement projects and effective change management accountabilities, this role will also play an important part in developing business intelligence reports on various operational and strategic aspects of the business.    

Some of your duties will include:

  • Lead and/or participate in a range of initiatives and projects, including the planning, analysis, management, support and review of these initiatives.
  • Develop business cases and strategic solutions including analysing, prioritising and enhancing current business practices using contemporary business methodologies aimed at optimising or improving service delivery.
  • Provide accurate business reports and recommendations including the ability to formulate policy documents, briefings, communications plans, ministerial and policy options in order to challenge procedures and professional concepts.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of contemporary business methodologies aimed at optimising or improving service delivery.
  • Proven project management experience with a strategic / change and risk management background.
  • Well-developed data and business analysis skills, including the ability to align business requirements to business benefits as well as well-developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines whilst using initiative under minimal direction.
  • The ability to monitor and manage stakeholder satisfaction ensuring positive outcomes for both the stakeholders and the organisation.

Requirements and relevant information:
The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Records Services Division, Public Support Services Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Public Support Services Department as required.
