Senior Procurement/Contract Practitioner

Procurement Department oversees and provides guidance on all purchasing and procurement activities to ensure policy compliance and value for money. This includes procurement planning, market approaches, evaluation, selection, negotiation, approval, contract establishment and management.

The Senior Procurement / Contract Practitioner’s primary responsibility is to prepare detailed plans and RFQ/RFT documentation for release to the market to procure services and products for use in Victoria Police.

Position Details

Your duties will include:

  • Delivering, managing and monitoring a range of complex procurements, ensuring compliance, value for money and the delivery of contractual obligations.
  • Providing high level professional advice and guidance on Victorian Government and Victoria Police procurement and/or contract management practices, policies and processes.
  • Liaising with external and internal stakeholders to ensure service quality and influence service delivery improvements.
  • Developing, maintaining and communicating category management expertise through leading and contributing to procurement and/or contract management initiatives.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with end-to-end delivery of significant procurements, preferably within a government context.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • The ability to works autonomously as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be desirable.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) Full Time, Ongoing position is available within the Procurement Department, located at the Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands 3008.
  • The successful applicant may be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen
