Position Details
About the role:
As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support services to members at the Melbourne East Police Station, North-West Metro Region, Division 1.
Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements.
Your duties will include:
- Undertake a range of administrative functions including the maintenance and management of various records and registers (manual and computerised) within a Region/Department/Command.
- Administer/manually handle and be accountable for the station lost and confiscated property whilst meeting the requirements of the OH&S policies.
- Provide general office support duties.
- Maintaining accountable documents including data entry, typing and word processing.
- Prepare routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to follow-up procedures.
- Attend to telephone and counter enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Experience in working with computers and various programs to perform a arrange of administrative tasks.
- Ability to accurately maintain systematic and administrative records whilst meeting strict deadlines with a high attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work successfully within a team environment and work independently.
- Display initiative and proactive work practices.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients both orally and in writing.
- Proven ethical behaviour as well as recognising the importance of confidentiality and privacy.
Requirements and relevant information:
- One (1) full time, ongoing position available.
- Position is located at the Melbourne East Police Station, 202 Bourke Street, Melbourne. While this position has a nominated usual place of work, the position will be required to work at other locations in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or Visa.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
