Position Details


Position title: Administration/Property Officer

There are 2x positions available: 1x full time and 1x part time at 0.8 full time equivalent (FTE).

With over 3500 operational police and 220 VPS employees, North West Metro Region is at the forefront of the delivery of policing services to a large, diverse and challenging segment of the Victorian Community.

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and property support services to members at the Broadmeadows Police Station.

Your duties will include:

  • Administering and being accountable for the team's lost and confiscated property.
  • Managing property storage, destruction and audits in accordance with policy.
  • Providing general office support duties including the operation and maintenance of office equipment;
  • Preparing routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to follow-up procedures as required with a high attention to detail;
  • Attending to telephone and counter enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and various programs to perform a range of administrative tasks including records management, data entry and word processing tasks;
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with minimal supervision;
  • A strong commitment to and a demonstrated record of meeting customer needs;
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask;
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients both orally and in writing.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Your usual place of work will be at Broadmeadows Police Station located at 15 Dimboola Road, Broadmeadows; however you may be required to work at any other location within the Division as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
