Position title:  Administration / Property Officer

About the role:

The Administration Property Officer role provides an essential service supporting the everyday running of the Geelong Police Complex. The usual place of work will be the Geelong Police Complex at 110 Mercer Street Geelong.  However, you may also be required to work at other locations within the Western Region Division1.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking a range of administrative functions including the maintenance and management of various records and registers (manual and computerised) within a Region/Department/Command.
  • Administer and be accountable for the Station and Command lost and confiscated property office, the supply of logistics and equipment, along with the logging of logistics/property and equipment faults, consistent with service delivery priorities.
  • Prepare a wide range of routine correspondence, financial, personnel, statistical and other various types of transactions and ensure appropriate follow-up action is taken when required.
  • Attend to telephone and counter enquiries from both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Undertake courier and other distribution/transportation functions as required.
  • May be required to attend court to provide continuity of the processes.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven administrative experience particularly in relation to word processing, data entry and preparing statistical reports. 
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to deal effectively with both internal and external key stakeholders.  
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.
  • History of ethical behaviour with commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The position is working within Western Region Division 1 located within the Geelong Police Complex
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
