About the role:

Victoria Police is currently advertising two (2) Administrative/Property Officer roles within Southern Metro Region, Division Two. This role is highly challenging, and we are seeking applicants who are motivated, energetic and self-driven to join our team. The successful applicant's primary role will be to provide a high level of administrative/property support to frontline policing across the Division. As part of the role, the selected applicant may be required to perform some of their duties in a secure or restricted environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking a range of functions around the receipt, management and disposal of lost or seized items in accordance with police policy and relevant legislation.
  • Accurate data entry and record management within relevant police systems and legislative retention periods, using hard copy and electronically based systems.
  • Provide a high level of accuracy in administrative support functions as required to support operational policing outcomes, including banking, filing & general office duties.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding police administration matters.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: 

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative services in a confidential environment.
  • Computer skills and experience in Microsoft 365 are essential.
  • Ability to interpret & apply legislation, policy & procedures.
  • Effective time management skills to be able to prioritise and complete all tasks within specified timeframes, autonomously or as part of an experienced team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are valued.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Further Information:

  • Two (2) x full-time, ongoing positions available with initial duties at:
    • Position 1 – Moorabbin Police Complex located at 1011-1013 Nepean Highway, Moorabbin, VIC, 3189.
    • Position 2 – Bayside Police Complex located at 25 Abbott Street, Sandringham, VIC, 3191.
  • However, the successful applicant may be expected to work at any location within Southern Metro Region, Division Two.  
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
