Victoria Police is seeking two highly qualified applicants to join Command as Assistant Commissioners.


At Victoria Police, our objective is to deliver a safer Victoria with our partners by providing intelligence and confident policing, focusing on the development of partnerships and working with the community to empower individuals to build a safer Victoria.

We provide policing services to the Victorian community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working to keep over 5.7 million Victorians safe. With over 18,000 people, including Police, Public Service employees, Protective Services Officers and Forensic Officers, effective frontline response service delivery is provided through 54 Police Service Areas, split across 21 divisions within four regions - North West Metro, Southern Metro, Eastern and Western.

Reporting to a Deputy Commissioner, the Assistant Commissioner positions will support the Chief Commissioner and Executive Command to place Victoria Police as a national leader in recognising and responding to pertinent issues confronting policing and the community within Victoria.

Assistant Commissioners will be accountable for the delivery of services through the implementation of corporate and operational strategies, including the effective and efficient management of resources in line with operational budgets within a strong governance framework.

Assistant Commissioners are expected to be role models for the Victoria Police values and integrity across Command, they are committed to the principles of equity and inclusion and elimination of workplace harm, conflict and discrimination within Victoria Police and actively promote a culture of feedback and accountability through engaging staff, completing constructive performance reviews, role modelling acceptable behaviour and driving safety and wellbeing.

To be successful in this challenging role, applicants will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities through delivering quality operational, business and change outcomes. Your demonstrated sound judgement, ethical behaviour, self-awareness, empathy, motivation and social skill in the way you work with others and lead change will ensure success in this position.
